The new series titled, GraffPOP, is a combination of my love for Pop Art and Graffiti. I have always considered graffiti, especially the bubble letter, as a pop element. GraffPOP is also an homage to the graffiti vandals that I grew up looking at in the streets and the ones that inspire me.The first 2 completed paintings will be featured in a group show at Vertical Gallery in Chicago. My latest project, "BE FREE", now on view in the South Bronx neighborhood of Tremont. The first in the series, I wanted to create empowering messages in a bold and graphic way, so I abandoned my traditional graffiti aesthetics dropping the spraycan and picking up bucket paint and rollers.
